National Dog Bite Prevention Week

Did you know that each year, 4.7 million people are bitten by dogs? Some of these incidents involve serious damage to skin and it’s appearance. Dr. Hoops believes in keeping children and parents aware of the danger of dog bites through National Dog Bite Prevention week, held each May. Dr. Hoops travels to local schools to talk to children on how to protect themselves from attacks.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Many women understand the importance of regular breast cancer screening, but not all. Our office is dedicated to spreading the word about proper care and screening, so you can be truly educated about your health. When faced with breast cancer, going through a mastectomy or double mastectomy is life changing. Many people do not know that they can also involve a plastic surgeon in the breast cancer removal process. Including a board certified plastic surgeon along with a certified oncologist is key to experiencing the most satisfaction in your breast cancer treatment. Oftentimes, the mastectomy and breast reconstruction can be completed on the same day. Feel free to call us with questions about breast reconstruction surgery, and how a plastic surgeon can help on your road to recovery.
